PrimarySchoolTrips.com Privacy Policy

Introduction

PrimarySchoolTrips.com is a trading style of Education Destination Ltd - a tour operator specialising in the provision of bespoke, curriculum-relevant school trips.

We offer schools a wide selection of pre-prepared teaching resources and activities that relate directly to visits and venues that we promote. We also arrange transport, accommodation and meals provision on behalf of schools.

We are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of our website visitors. This policy explains what happens to any personal details we are provided with whilst visitors are using our website. It also explains how we utilise cookies.

Education Destination Ltd. is the controller responsible for your personal data. We have appointed a Data Protection Lead who is responsible for overseeing questions relating to this privacy policy. Should you have any questions relating to this policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact us by email or post using the details at the foot of this page and state that your query is for the attention of the Data Protection Lead.

You have the right to make a complaint regarding our use of your personal data by contacting the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) who are the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (ico.org.uk) - we would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before a formal approach is made to the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)(Regulation (EU) 2016/679) defines "personal information" and "sensitive personal information" and we have assessed our processes and procedures to ensure that we comply with the Regulation.

  • We do not collect or process "sensitive" personal information
  • We collect and process other personal information subject to GDPR but only if you approach us with a view to buying services from us
  • As a general website visitor we do not collect personal information from you
  • Any information supplied by you before you become a customer of ours will only be used for the purposes of providing you with further information as requested by you, for example the provision of quotations or sales literature
  • Any information supplied by you after you become a customer of ours will only be shared with relevant partner organisations wherein we act as agents or facilitators, and said information will be anonymised as far as reasonably practicable, for example the sharing of traveller data with accommodation providers such as special dietary requirements
  • We do not share your personal information with any other third parties
  • The information supplied to PrimarySchoolTrips.com is stored by us indefinitely, with the exception of traveller data which is securely deleted immediately after cessation or cancellation of a planned trip
  • All information collected by PrimarySchoolTrips.com is stored on computer servers located in the UK

Information That We Collect

We don't believe in collecting more personal information other than that which is absolutely necessary. In the normal running of our website we may collect and process the following personal information:

  • information provided voluntarily by you, for example when requesting a quotation or further details about our services - typically constituting:
    • a contact name
    • the name of the establishment you represent
    • an establishment contact email address
    • an establishment contact telephone number

The lawful basis on which we collect and store your personal information at the enquiry stage is consent. All of our contact forms ask you to agree to this Privacy Policy before you are able to submit your details.

If you go on to become a customer of ours, we require you to supply limited additional information about the travellers making up your party, however this information is anonymised as far as reasonably practicable - for instance by referring to students by numbers or forenames only. Because of this anonymisation, we do not consider this information to be "personal" under the GDPR definition. The lawful basis on which we collect and store your personal information after you have agreed to become a customer of ours, therefore, is the performance of a contract with you.

Third-Party Links

Our website includes links to third party websites. These are clearly marked with the following symbol: . Clicking on such links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control those third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy controls. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the Privacy Policy of every website that you visit.

Sharing of your Information

We use the information that we collect from you to be able to provide our services to you. Some services are provided by third parties, for example travel, accommodation and visitor attractions. By providing anonymised details you authorise the sharing of these only where strictly necessary for the purpose of facilitating your visit.

Disclosing your Information

We will not disclose the personal information supplied by you to any third party except in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the following limited circumstances:

  • in the event that we sell any or all of our business, in which case your details may be passed on to the buyer
  • where we are legally obligated to disclose it

Access to Information

You have the right to request details of the personal information that we hold about you. You can request this at any time by writing to the email or physical addresses at the foot of this page. Please allow 5 working days from receipt for your request to be actioned. Please be reminded that the information we hold is limited to that identified earlier in this document.

No fee is usually charged for access to your personal data (or to exercise any of your other legal rights), however we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.

Retention of Information

We will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

Opting Out / "Right To Be Forgotten"

You have a "right to be forgotten". This means that you can ask us at any time to erase all personal information that we hold about you.

If you do this with a booked visit pending, and unless we jointly agree to transfer ownership of the booking to a third party, we will treat such requests as cancellation of said visit in according with the Terms and Conditions of Booking which applied at the time of confirmation.
